The 15th Allianz German Boys & Girls Open has found the new champions!
Ingrid Lindblad from Sweden and Charles Larcelet from France played first-class golf under excellent weather conditions and in front of a big audience! Hereby they saved the popular international title! In the record participant field with 207 players from 21 nations Ingrid won with three 68-rounds (-14) against Alessia Nobilio (-13, ITA) and Emma Spitz (-11, AUS). Best german player was Paula Kirner on rank five with eight under par.
The high performance niveau was also shown at the competition of the boys. Winner Charles Larcelet (FRA), Chin Hin Lou Tan (CHN) and Fredrik Strandberg (GER) had the same reults after their three rounds so the final had to be decided with a play off at hole 18. Tan dropped out at the first extra hole, Strandberg and Larcelet went to tee 18 again and finally the frenchman won.
Also a great incident was the round of Christoph Bleier (AUS) on the third day, which was the best round of the tournament (62!!). The nations cup, consisting of the single results from the first two days, won the girls from Italy with 15 under par. Close behind the swedish girls finished their two rounds on the second place (-14) and the second italian team finished on rank three (-9). In the boys rating the players from Denmark won the title with a result of -14. Italy (-12) and Germany (-7) ended up on the second and third place.
This year showed again, that the Allianz German Boys & Girls Open has a high athletic and sport level and that the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot offers a fantastic basis for the young players, in order to mess with other top athletes in europe!
GBGO 2018, a full success!
