Greetings

DEAR PLAYERS AND GOLF ENTHUSIASTS,

Welcome to the 16th German Boys and Girls Open at the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot. In collaboration with the German Golf Association our club is once again pleased to extend a cordial welcome to the athletic elite of the age group 18 of boys and girls from all over Europe, and beyond.

Again, players from more than 20 nations will compete in the tournament, and numerous national coaches will accompany their teams. In the last years we have been pleased to see the increasing popularity of this event with American college coaches, who see the event as a scouting opportunity. We are particularly proud that the event will also be the qualifying tournament for the European PING Junior Solheim Cup Team this year.

As a club, we focus on continuous development of the tournament week in the areas of an outstanding athletic field of participants, fair but challenging playing conditions and professional organisation. This is our promise, which we will implement once more this year with all our partners, to whom I would like to express my gratitude at this point.

I wish all players a great time in our club, sporting success and a friendly exchange with like-minded people.

With sporty greetings,

Dietmar Hopp

DEAR PLAYERS, DEAR GOLF FANS,

young golfers in Germany are getting better and better. The talents of the German golf clubs are performing at a very high international level. At the annual German Boys and Girls Open (GBGO) in the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot the best boys and girls up to the age of 18 will be giving proof of how good they really are. The tournament, which is already taking place for the 16th time, is one of the highlights of the German and European tournament calendar. The combination of many years of experience and great commitment on behalf of the organising Golf Club St. Leon-Rot ensures that the participants play in conditions comparable to those of the big tours.

In 2019 it certainly will be exciting again until the end. 100 boys and 100 girls up to 18 years of age will give their all to win the international German Amateur Championship. For this strong competitors from all over Europe will arrive. I'm sure there will only be winners at the end of the three days of the tournament. For just as important as the sporting achievements and the competition are the new experiences made and the respect that the athletes show each other. During the German Boys and Girls Open, the talents of Europe meet, get to know each other and take lots of individual experiences home with them to their respective country.

I would like to thank the Club President, Mr. Dietmar Hopp, and all of the employees and voluntary workers of the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, without whom such an event would not be possible.

I wish you all wonderful tournament days and unforgettable sporting and personal moments.

With swinging salutes,

Claus M. Kobold
