A very warm welcome to the 15th Allianz German Boys and Girls Open at the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, one of the most important European performance tournaments for girls and boys of the age group 18 years and younger.

Along with our main partner Allianz and the German Golf Association, we as a Club are happy to once again welcome the "Best of the Best" from all over Europe and the world to our facility.

Once again the field of participants this year guarantees impressive golfing and tension until the very end. Fair and challenging course conditions will demand everything from the athletes, especially since the tournament will be held over three rounds on both championship courses at the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot.

May all starters achieve their goals, gain valuable experience, make new friends and enjoy a wonderful time at our facility.

Thanks are due to the main partner Allianz and to the German Golf Association, without whose commitment this tournament could not have become so successful. I also thank all other cooperation partners and sponsors for their commitment to the youth.

With sporty greetings,

Dietmar Hopp

should you have successfully completed one of the five qualification tournaments of the Allianz German Boys and Girls Open, you can look forward to a highlight of the German and European Match Schedule. The tournament, which will be held for the 15th time by the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, offers the best youngsters up to 18 years of age from Germany and Europe a top-notch tournament experience. Under conditions similar to the Professional Tours, the junior athletes play for the victory of the International German Amateur Championship.

I am particularly pleased that there is no Cut for the 100 boys and 100 girls who fight for the best score in three rounds. This ensures that each participant can derive a maximum of experience from this tournament. With the opening night, the professionally prepared teeing grounds and fairways as well as the large spectator grandstand at the 18th hole, it will be an unforgettable experience for all participants. I am sure that the numerous spectators will experience excellent golf for three days.

In the name of international understanding it is a pleasure for us, the German Golf Association, to welcome players from all over Europe to Germany and to host this competition with our strong partners, the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot and the European Golf Association (EGA). In particular, I would like to thank Allianz Deutschland AG, which has been supporting this tournament as the main sponsor for nine years now and is very committed to the Golf sport in Germany.

I would also like to thank the Club President, Mr. Dietmar Hopp, as well as the full-time and volunteer staff of the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, without whom such an event would not be possible.

I wish you fantastic tournament days and lasting sporting and personal experiences.

Kind regards,

talent should unfold and personalities must be able to mature. This does not only apply to the vocational training of our young people. In sports and especially in Golf, the committed work with young talents is the basic prerequisite to grow top athletes. So we are particularly pleased to welcome you to the Allianz German Boys & Girls Open on the beautiful facilities of the Golf-Club St. Leon-Rot.

For the fifteenth time now highly talented junior golfers will meet for this international competition, which truly is an extraordinary talent show, as more and more young players from many different nations are taking part each year. We take pride in and are often amazed by the performance density and the high-class sport offered on these three tournament days, which do set first exclamation marks. For some of the former participants have found their way into the Professional Tours nowadays and assert themselves there impressively.

But these top performances are only possible if they can emerge from a healthy and stable base. The youth promotion of the Alliance is therefore broadly based. One of the most popular examples of this is the Lucky33 Tournament Series, which has been successfully established since 2009 and provides a real competitive experience for children and teens with fresh golfing experiences. Great fun for everyone and bright children's eyes prove that Golf is a sport that guarantees outdoor entertainment and exercise for the whole family.

Thus, the Alliance has also been supporting the German Golf Association for several years as a partner and insurance provider of the Golf sport.

In Germany there are more than 400 public golf courses where everyone can pursue his passion for golf without a membership and often without the usual handicap. Dexterity, concentration, perseverance and patience exercise body and mind in a challenging way, which you can learn early and use for your sport into old age. Moreover there is hardly any other sport in which anyone can go out for a round together and compete regardless of the level of performance, gender or age.

These conditions provide the breeding ground for excellence, as we may experience them in the coming days again. I wish all visitors of the Alliance German Boys & Girls Open 2018 a lot of fun and much success for all the athletes!
