Daniel Hopp

Dear players

Dear friends of golf,

As early as 1997, our Founding President Dietmar Hopp set the course for our club to see itself as a sporting club and to live this out in particular through a targeted promotion of young talents.

Especially those talents who develop from amateur sports to competitive sports are inspired by outstanding golfers in their environment. Therefore, we are very proud that we have been inviting the best golfers in Europe in the age group 18 and younger to our golf club for the German Boys and Girls Open since 2004, and this year for the 19th time.

Our objective is always to offer an attractive competition, which is created thanks to our outstanding courses, their professional state of maintenance, and an impressive field of participants of the "best of the best" from all over Europe and the world.

It is of particular importance to us that all participants, coaches, and accompanying persons feel welcome and enjoy their time at our club, even besides the competition. Especially the fact that boys and girls from different nationalities experience this tournament week together offers a rare opportunity to exchange ideas and make new friends.

A big thank you goes to our members who once again show their support for the youth during this particular week. This tournament is made possible thanks to our partnership with the German Golf Association, which acts as the tournament’s sporting organizer and with whom we have maintained a close partnership in the spirit of the sport since the very beginning. We thank the Association for this partnership. We are also very happy and grateful for every partner and sponsor who actively supports the organization of this tournament.

I wish everyone a good game and low scores, and I am pleased that, this year, the German Boys and Girls Open can be used to collect points for the nomination for the PING Junior Solheim Cup and the Junior Ryder Cup. May the best golfers win!

With sporty greetings

Daniel Hopp
President of Golf Club St. Leon-Rot

Dear players

Dear friends of golf,

the time has come again: from 1st to 3rd June 2023, more than 200 top male and female golfers under the age of 18 from all over Europe will come together for the 19th edition of the German Boys & Girls Open in St. Leon-Rot to compete for the title of "International German Amateur Champion Boys / Girls". After an eventful 2022, the 2023 tournament again promises top-class youth golf and plenty of excitement.

First held in 2004, the tournament has become increasingly important over the years. On the one hand, because of the outstandingly high sporting quality offered on an excellently prepared golf course. On the other hand, because of the perfect organization by the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot. The fact that the German Boys & Girls Open is now a permanent part of the European tournament calendar is no coincidence, but the result of hard work.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Club President Daniel Hopp and all the full-time and voluntary staff of the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot for their tireless efforts. Without all of you, such an event would not be possible. The three tournament days of the German Boys & Girls Open will certainly be a special and unforgettable experience for the participants this year - and not only from a sporting point of view.

I wish you all wonderful tournament days.

Your

Claus M. Kobold

President of the German Golf Association
